Language is the ultimate interoperability standard; brutally pruning obscure languages into English dialects is one of the best things to happen to the world in thousands of years, akin to shoehorning MS Office documents into XML. If I spoke Welsh, I’d be translating important works into English before it’s too late, and carving out a hybridised corner of the English namespace.
