DDoSing Estonia

5:11pm, 14th May 2007

Some say Russia is behind Estonia’s DDoSing, but I kinda doubt it: don’t DDoS attacks come from millions of distinct, globally distributed botnet IPs, rather than a single IP from within the Russian government? Nevertheless, I think Russia is still the #1 supervillain in the world today. Guess who’s beating up protestors, jailing opposition candidates in his own country, and assassinating them out of it. Putin is far, far scarier than any dozen random shit-for brains terrorists:

One of the alleged 21 July bombers said he was only accused of being a suicide bomber because he was Muslim, a court has heard.

Yassin Omar, 26, said the “bomb” he detonated in a rucksack at Warren Street Tube station in London was a protest against the Iraq war.

“Because I am Muslim, straight away that meant I was a suicide bomber,” he told Woolwich Crown Court.
